God fixes fractured faith
By Wesley M. Marrow
In this day and time when so many are struggling with the issues of life,
many are also struggling with their faith. God fixes fractured faith. A fracture
is something broken or cracked, but can be mended. My suggestion to the
world would be for us to go to our spiritual hospitals and get them repaired.
Galatians 6:7-9 is an awesome place for encouragement. Verse 9: “Let us
not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest
if we do not give up.” Though the inference is on giving and doing good, it also
demands faith for fruition. Do not give up is the command!
When things do not go your way, do not give up. When things seem to drain
you, do not give up. When people block your path, do not let that block your
blessings, do not give up! We learn in Philippians 4:13 that we can do “all
things through Christ.” To a Christian of strong faith, nothing is impossible.
We are blessed to serve a God that has made a way out of no way numerous
times. Based on that fact, we should be patient (James 1:4) and no that if He
has covered us in the past, He can and will do it again.
One way fractured faith can be fixed is by trusting in God and not in people. It’
s in man’s nature to fail, but in God there is no failure. With God all things are
possible (Matthew 19:26). Another way fractured faith can be fixed is by
believing over seeing (Hebrew 11:1). A faith that can be seen is not faith at
all. What do you have to trust in if you already have witnessed it? By trusting
in God you fight the good fight and keep your faith from sinking (1 Timothy 1:
19). We must contend for the faith with courage, conviction and a conquer’s
attitude (Jude 3, 20)! Faith in its essence is belief in action. Walk that talk
and do not allow your faith to just be lip service.
Sadly, fractured faith focuses on failures. What we don’t have, how often we
don’t succeed. Fractured faith is a faith that’s out of focus too! When our faith
is fractured it is out of focus with God’s will. In Hebrews 12:2, the writer
teaches us to look to Jesus. Not our careers, friends and family. Jesus will
be there when all those things are gone. God is a provider, Jehovah Jireh, and
supplies all of our needs. He cares for us materially, emotionally and
physically. When in doubt, let your fingers do the walking; Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you.
If your faith is fractured, pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), work
without worry and trust without tempting. An unbroken faith believes 1
Corinthians 2:9-10 "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has
conceived what God has prepared for those who love him – but God has
revealed it to us by his Spirit.”
Give God your undivided attention and He will give you peace beyond your
understanding. Remember, what God fixes no one can break!
