Be not discouraged
By Tynia Coleman

Have you experienced or better yet are you experiencing a spirit of
discouragement in your life? It’s only March, the third month of the
year and many people are experiencing a spirit of discouragement.
I myself have had this experience; I allowed it to linger for about an
hour and then decided I had had enough!

It is amazing that as fired up as we all are about 2010 and the
things that God is doing in the earth realm today, that any of us
would be discouraged, that we would be feeling despair and lack of
hope. And to be anxious for anything in this day, not us! We know
that God has provided our needs, we know that He desires and
has given us true salvation and wholeness in this hour, but yet
discouraged we find ourselves. Well I tell you that it is a spirit of
discouragement that the enemy has loosed against the Body of
Christ and I would go as far as to say, that the attack is especially
against women. We are the feelers and we take it upon ourselves
to meet everyone needs all around us, and sometimes we forget
that we need time alone with God. Oh, I might need someone to
pray for me today. Is it possible to get in a nap today or even this
week? We find ourselves worn out in our bodies and in our minds
this leaves us vulnerable to discouraging thoughts and emotions.

Here is the deliverance that God gave me through another sister
when I reached out for help, Ephesians 22-23 “Strip yourselves of
your former nature (put off and discard your old unrenowned self)
which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes
corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; And be
constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind (having a fresh mental
and spiritual attitude).”

Reading this I see lust and delusion as being the enemy in me, lust
is simply the pressures of this world or pressures of the world trying
to conform us back to its way of thinking, being and doing. Then
there is delusion which is simply a false reality that we see through
eyes of circumstance and not through the eyes of God.

Let’s recharge and renew the spirit of our minds constantly so that
we can have a new mental and spiritual attitude! Deuteronomy 1:
21 says, “See, the Lord your God has given you the land. Go up
and take possession of it as the Lord, the God of your fathers, told
you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
